IMPORTANT:
For those using Windows ® systems, once you download the file, you
will have to burn it to CD as an .iso file.

VERY
IMPORTANT! - Once you have the disc burnt and booted, to
log
in,
the username
is "translator", and
the password
is "transl8".
(transl are letters, 8 is a number. Some folks wrote confused
about that).
Also,
the
root password is "linguas".
Also, once you have logged in, the user interface may seem a little
different.
You may be wondering, "Where is the 'start'
button?"
Right click on the desktop to bring up a menu of applications available
to you.
If this user interface seems confusing, don't worry. If you
choose to install to your hard drive, you have other options, such as
the KDE Desktop,
which will
look and feel much more familiar to
you.
In the mean time, enjoy experimenting with the tools the Live
CD
offers.
If you decide to install Linguas OS to your hard drive, right click on
the desktop and choose "Install to hard drive" in the Admin tools
submenu. Literally thousands of additional
programs will be available to freely download and install once you've
done so, using the Synaptic package manager (in the Admin menu).
Some we recommend, that aren't on Linguas OS, by default,
include: Gnucash - financial software, GIMP -image manipulation,
Scribus-DTP program, StarDict-multilingual dictionary, just to mention
a few that are available via synaptic...There are literally thousands
of programs available, and all FREE.
